Arena is an online mode of Battlesmiths: Blade and Forge where you can put your fighters into battle with another player's squad.
Battles in Arena last one round, and the stronger your opponent is, the more rating points you earn if you win.
Similar to other modes, the search for a battle costs a certain amount of food depending on your battle rating. Winning gets you gold, useful crafting resources and increases your rating, while losing a battle decreases it.
In addition, players can earn daily chests with rewards for the first 5 and 10 victories per day. The chests can contain both rare resources and especially powerful artifacts or their recipes, which will increase the effectiveness of your fighters.
Once you reach a certain rank, you'll be promoted to a new competitive league where you'll find stronger opponents and better rewards, including more powerful items in chests. Losing a significant amount of rating points will lead to dropping into the previous league.
Before entering PvP fights every player goes through the calibration battles against AI opponents. If you don't play PvP matches for a long time and upgrade your heroes through playing other modes, the game may restart the calibration process once you return to the Arena.
